Euan Stanwix Completes the 100 mile
Prudential Ride London for Secret World Wildlife Rescue
Yesterday the team sponsored by Secret World Wildlife Rescue cycled the 100-mile Prudential Ride London course and we hope to raise a collective £4,000+ for this Somerset charity. The conditions were ideal but we had some obstacles in terms of an entire tree falling on two of us up Leith Hill, myself included, (you could not make this up) and a number of crashes of our fellow riders, thankfully not those in our team. Despite all of this we averaged nearly 16mph, which is fairly respectable in cycling terms, and enjoyed our moment as we rode down The Mall on a closed road. The team had trained for 7 months and all of those days going up Cheddar Gorge, Shipham Hill, Westbury Quarry Hill and the numerous miles across The Levels paid off as we crossed the finish line. Secret World Wildlife Rescue is supported 100% through donations and I want to thank all of those people in the West Mendip Walkers who have donated money to support me in this challenge.
